Day 7
Hey everyone it’s Diego and Cole! After a long day of travel yesterday we got to sleep in rooms with amazing beds and AC at the Royal Galapagos Hotel. We all had an amazing night of sleep and then we started the day with a delicious breakfast. We slept in and started class at 10:00 am and had some really deep discussions the definition of truth and how it can change with time and culture. After that we took a break to see the sea lions on the beach. Then we discussed what kind of characteristics we want to see in a study in order to increase confidence. Once we finished class we went back to get our gear for snorkeling. Then that we grabbed a quick lunch at a local restaurant, which served us a fish soup and an entree of either chicken or fish. After that we met Diego Iglesias, a Galapagos tour guide from USFQ, who taught us about all the native and endemic flora and fauna. Next we walked through an exhibit that talked about the history of the Galapagos and all the different settlers that came to the islands. After we finished walking through the exhibit we went to some view points to see the different islands in the distance and the cove that we were going to swim in and snorkel. Finally it was time to go snorkeling and we hoped in the cove. We got to see Al kids of different fish, some sea lions that thought it was funny to scare us, and 7 sea turtles! Some of us had a a great time and swam with the marine animals while others were swallowing gallons fo sea water. Once we finished snorkeling we walked back to our hotel and rested before dinner. We ended the night at Sea garden and had some amazing seafood.
This sounds amazing!
